I know this can be frustrating, you’ve probably made some diet plans that aren’t really effective for you. Feeling frustrated makes you want to revert back to your old unhealthy eating habits.
So, you ask your friend what is the best diet you could take that really works. Your friend then advises you to try the hCG diet. You then researched about this diet and you come across two core factors of the diet: hCG injections and 500-calories per day.
This puts you in a contemplative state: with these conditions, does this really work, or is this just a fraud? We’ll look into what people have to say about the diet.
Let’s talk about what the critics have to say. According to Pieter Cohen, an assistant professor of medicine at Harvard School of Medicine, “It’s reckless, irresponsible, and completely irrational. Of course you’re losing fat, but that’s mainly because you’re hardly consuming any calories. And any benefit is not going to last.”
Critics also argue that supplement manufacturers create Homeopathic versions of the said hormone. The FDA issued a statement regarding this. The FDA states that these homeopathic hCG supplements are not the real thing, because the hCG hormone can only be administered by licensed physicians.
But, what do the hCG diet advocates have to say about the matter? Well, let’s look at how the hCG diet came to be.
The hCG diet’s effects were documented back in 1950, when Doctor Simeons gave patients hCG shots to cure infertility. He was astounded with the results because not only are his patients more fertile after a few doses of the hormone, but people have lost significant amounts of weight! He also went on to say that people were able to lose fat in troublesome areas such as the arms, stomach and buttocks.
This is where hCG advocates take on a more positive perspective about the diet. Naysayers always look at the surface, the ridiculous 500-calorie restriction per day and the hCG shots you need to take every day. What the critics did not realize is that the hCG hormone satiates people, even if they do not eat that much. The hormone acts as a powerful appetite-suppressant. Furthermore, there are no documented cases of muscle loss at all, and that the hCG actually preserves muscle mass even with the caloric restriction.
In short, hCG advocates say that it does work, and that naysayers are just jealous of the positive effects people who have tried the diet experienced.
So, are you going to try the hCG diet? This is my personal take on the matter. Not all body types are the same, that’s a fact. You can try the hCG diet, and if it works for you, then great. If it doesn’t, then look for another diet plan. There is really no diet that is set in stone, you have to be willing to try what works best for you.
